Who challenged the support letters?
Federal prosecutors urged Fitzgerald to give little weight to the letters submitted on the rapper’s behalf. They argued in a filing that the celebrity endorsements amounted to an effort to put public pressure on the court. Prosecutors also said the proposed bond package fell short of addressing their concerns about flight risk and witness safety. The objection came from the government’s filing, as reported by XXL.
