How the trilogy ended

Their first fight ended in a split draw in 2018. Fury stopped Wilder in the seventh round of the 2020 rematch, then knocked him out in the 11th round of their third fight in 2021. Wilder dropped Fury twice in the third fight before Fury finished it. Source: The Independent via Yahoo Sports

After the second fight, Wilder alleged that Fury had tampered with his gloves. Fury rejected the allegation, and ESPN reported that the Nevada State Athletic Commission inspected the gloves and found no issues. The allegation was never substantiated. Source: ESPN via ABC News

Would a fourth fight be worth watching?

No fourth fight has been announced. But December gives Wilder a chance to answer Fury’s criticism in the ring. A strong showing against an unbeaten Opetaia would give fans a fresh reason to talk about a fourth fight. If Wilder struggles, Fury’s two stoppage wins may be all the answer some fans need.
